📚 PMP Exam Prep Books

I recommend using the following books to help prepare you for your PMP Exam. These are what I personally used to pass my own PMP Exam Above Target in All Domains.

  • Essential Scrum – I skimmed the most important areas of this book to have a deeper understanding of Scrum and the Agile Framework. Since Agile takes up more than 50% of your PMP Exam, I highly recommend grabbing a copy of this book to help you have a better understanding of Scrum.
  • Agile GuideThis is an incredibly valuable and easy-to-read resource to help you better understand the Agile Framework. I read this cover-to-cover AT LEAST two times, and I encourage you to grab a copy of this guide to familiarize yourself with the high-level concepts covered inside this guide.
  • PMP Exam Prep Book – I highly recommend this, because Rita does an AMAZING job at breaking down the Predictive Approach so it’s very easy to read and understood. I used this to get a very good refresher of the Predictive Approach. Just note that you will need to refer to the Agile Guide or Essential Scrum Book for a deeper dive into the detailed concepts of Scrum or Agile.
  • PMBOK Guide, 6th Edition – This is the older version of the PMBOK Guide. It outlines the Predictive Approach & the different Processes Knowledge Areas associated with the waterfall approach.
  • PMBOK Guide 7th Edition – Use the PMBOK 7th Edition as a reference aid only. If there are any terms you’re unsure of, look it up in the PMBOK Guide.
